JUICE CLEANSE PROTOCOL

What’s all the hype about juice cleanses and are they truly beneficial?

When fresh produce is juiced and strained (to eliminate pulp) we are left with raw, concentrated nutrients full of healthy enzymes and good bacteria. These fresh-pressed juices consumed in large amounts for several days allow the digestive system time to cleanse and repair itself. This is especially beneficial for those trying to heal the gut. The body is also able to gently remove toxins and cleanse all organs from the inside out. It is common to experience different waves of emotion during a cleanse as the organs release toxins. Juice cleanses alkalize the body and help to maintain a healthy ph balance. Many people get a second wind on the third day of the cleanse and extend their cleanse longer, although it is not required.

Juice Cleanse Preparation

Three days prior to a juice cleanse remove all processed foods, alcohol, caffeine, tobacco and drugs from your diet. Always consult with a physician regarding prescription drugs. Eat as raw as possible (raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds). This process will lessen detox symptoms.

During the cleanse, focus on an intuitive approach. Set an intention at the beginning of your cleanse.  Drink each juice as your body craves them and drink plenty of water. If you become too hungry, watermelon is ok for consumption and it won't interrupt the cleanse. Get plenty of sleep and rest. Keep exercise minimal and low impact. Meditate, heal and become increasingly aware of your mind, body and soul connection.

Post Cleanse

As the cleanse is finished, slowly introduce vegetable broth and raw fruits and vegetables back into the diet. Many people notice cravings for sugar and processed foods are minimized or eliminated and they will actually crave fresh produce.
